Our Spring Choral Concert featured all our students performing with the support of our music teacher, Darci Gibson. Students collaborated with each other in a fun musical concert, bringing our close community together for an evening of musical fun. Santiago Helpers Support Mark Twain in Softball Fun Our softball game paired our Mark Twain students and support from Santiago students in playing a softball game. I am honored to have been selected as the new leader at Mark Twain. Over the past 22 years, I have been fortunate to be a part of making a difference in the lives of my students and families as a special education teacher and administrator. I am excited for the opportunity to work with the students, staff, and families at Mark Twain to build upon the great work and successes that have already been set in place. I am not only looking forward to working with your students and the staff but also the opportunity for the work we will do together. Fostering a collaborative connection between home and school is a passion of mine. Our instructional program focuses on building the functional skills of our students in the following areas: Academics Communication, Social skills Daily living skills Vocational skills Recreation and leisure Physical education Humanities- art and music Our instructional program also incorporates community-based instruction, where students increase their opportunities to further develop their social skills and other specific skills critical to the individual’s ability to function independently in the community. Mark Twain students explore the meaning of creativity together. The Spring concert brought students and families together to celebrate the undeniable talent here on campus! Our parental involvement on campus is better than ever. Thank you, parents! Students learn how to swim with Mark Twain's swimming program! Mark Twain is celebrating one of our Students of the Quarter, Gabe! Congrats! Jakob is one of our Students of the Quarter and we congratulate him for being a spectacular student! Students on a field trip get fresh air and explore the outdoors! Students and faculty give this field trip a "thumbs up!" Our students' Halloween costumes are creative and unique! Students enjoy a day out at Santiago High School for a Peer 2 Peer meeting. Students get ready for a fun day of learning. Our campus provides fun events that bring families together. This lovely lady is ready for traditional dance. We love seeing our students happy and excited. It's a beautiful day for Mark Twain students to get out and explore around campus. Here comes Cookie Monster! Students show off their colorful and creative costumes on Halloween! Mark Twain students are always eager to head to campus and expand their knowledge on the world! Students spend the day learning how to swim from these caring instructors. Students get to enjoy the day relaxing and having fun in the pool on an especially warm day. Everyone has a great time just floating by through the calm and refreshing pool. Students take a refreshing dip in the pool as they enjoy a day away from the typical classroom environment. The library is a favorite spot for many of our students! The smiles on our students' faces says it all - it's great to be at Mark Twain! It's Mark Twain fun as students take a field trip and order some tasty snacks! As part of this field trip, students get to have fun playing air hockey and other games.
